There are many versions of the origin of the game of blackjack. Many have insisted that the game started in France in mid 1700s and was back then known as ‘vingt-et-un’ or [TWENTY-ONE].

The name blackjack was derived from the bonus that was given at certain time when players were paid extra when they held Jack of Spade(s) & Ace of the Spade as the first 2 cards. The coining of the name Blackjack came from the fact that Jack is an important  card and the Spades when usually black in color.

Since the 1800s, the game had already been consistently played throughout the US. It is important to point out that gambling was legitimate in the USA between 1850s and 1910 till Nevada had a law which made it an offence or illegitimate for anybody to take part in gamble in the US. This was the situation till around 1930 when casino games and gambling was again legalized in the city of Nevada. Blackjack immediately took the top position and became the highest sort after card game in the entire casinos.

The main aim of the Blackjack is to get close up to twenty-one as must as possible without been over busting. The Queen and King are given the value 10 each while the number cards are usually given their face values worth’s and also the Ace can either be 11 or 1. The winner of the any Blackjack game session is the player that gets closer to 21 without busting. There is a situation called the PUSH or tie which normally occurs when both the dealer and the player gets equal cards worth and value.

The Blackjack game is usually been played through these simple steps;

A. The involved player[s] places the bets.

B. The game dealer deals 2 upwards facing cards are dealt to the players and then one to himself.

C. The dealer then draws the 2nd card to himself but conceals the value by placing its face downwards.

D. The player[s] is asked whether if the want more cards or if they want to stand. If the player requests for more cards, he or she is said to be ‘HITTING’.

E. There is no limit to the number of ‘HITS’ a player can go for but the only thing is that the player should ensure that he or she doesn’t bust or go over the 21 value.

F. The moment a player or one of the players busts, the player looses and the casino hall wins.
