Blackjack and the Seven Rules for the Splitting Pairs
It is possible that you can be dealt two cards of the same denomination while playing the blackjack card game. Majority of the casinos would allow you to bet extra funds on the cards and split them as separate hands. Many new players that had won some games by simply splitting may not realize that there are some factors that favored them. It is very essential that you know when the time is right for you to split your cards because if you do it at the wrong time, you will only have some regrets at the end of the game. Follow these 7 rules to know what to split any pairs of cards while playing.
1. If you are dealt two aces, SPLIT. Reason is the two aces will end of making a soft twelve which isn’t a strong hand. When you split aces, each of them would instantly become 11 which are strong hands to begin with. You have more chances of reaching 20 or 21 on each of the cards if you add any other numbers to them. You will just need to take one card on top of the aces and note that you may not be allowed to re-split if another ace emerges.
2. Don’t think of SPLITTING 10s or 5s because two 10s make a strong hand while 5s aren’t taking you any where. You just have to double down on your 5s and hope that you get an ace or 10 to push up your number.
3. It is only advisable to split a pair of 4s if the dealers hand contains weak numbers such as 5 or 6 revealed cards.
4. If the dealer’s up card is 7, don’t split a pair of 9s but if it is between 2 and 9, you have good chances if your split your 9s. Staying when the dealer shows 7 is because if the dealer has another 7, your pair of 9s would be more than the dealer’s hand and you still win.
5. Pairs of 8s are dicey but you can split in most cases and hoe that you are dealt a 10 or ace in each of the hands. But if the dealer is showing 10 or an ace, you may have to stand and hope that you get a little card to pull off the winning lever.
6. Whenever you have pairs of 6s and 7s, you should split as long as the dealer shows up cards that are lower or equal to them.
7. If you have pairs of 2s and 3s, you should split as long as the dealer’s up card is 7 or any other card value below that.
Whiling splitting the cards would readily increase your wining chances and boost your bankroll if well managed, it is important that you understand the rules of each casino before you set out to split. This is because few casinos have different opinions from the majority. When you properly split, you will be able to win more and have more fun while playing the blackjack card game.
Basic Blackjack Strategy
The sole aim of any blackjack gaming session is for one player to get a hand that totals closer to 21 as possible. The player that achieves the feat beats the dealer and wins the particular gaming session. If you want to win in any blackjack game, you have to know when the time is ripe for you to stand or when to stop. Many players are fond of ignoring the fact that when their cards sum up to 17 or 20, they shouldn’t go for another card.
There is need for any blackjack card game player to be alert and play smart consistently to ensure winnings. With good basic strategy, a player can reduce the house edge to as low as 7 percent or even less. With such consistent winning approach, the player would start playing like a pro and coming out tops in most gaming sessions. For example, any player that realizes that when a single card of the player is an Ace, and the dealer’s upwards card being anything from 9 to an Ace, he or she can draw a second card.
It is important to note that one playing strategy that works for a particular game may not be able to produce the same result for all other games. Any smart player is advised to have flexibility and variability as two important watchwords wile playing the online blackjack casino games. A player can split up the bet by simply adding an additional bet if he or she has twin cards with same valuation. If all other factors are considered, the player can easily double up the bet and beat the dealer if he or she is relatively sure of the possible outcome. It is better to give up when one is sure that he or she can no longer carry on the game so that the lose would be minimized.
Knowing which hand is good and which one that isn’t is one vital aspect of any online blackjack game. For example, a good player should be able to know that he or she mustn’t split their 10s when they get them. You do not necessarily have to be too choosy in the blackjack card games so that you wouldn’t get bored while playing. The player’s instinct could be very helpful if it is padded with some basic strategic playing knowledge such as knowing that he or she has good chances of winning if he or she splits eighths and Aces no matter which cards the dealer has at that time. That way, the player would reduce the risk of losing out if the bet is doubled. There are insurance that is offered by the casino house but they can only be considered after you must have counted your blackjack cards. The reason is simply because, with a relatively high house edge, the odds would be more against you with that insurance.
If you really want to have maximum fun in the blackjack games, you have to have the aggressive and competitive spirit that is necessary for tournament strategies. You have to aim high and stake more so that you can win bigger and don’t hesitate to stop if you losing more. If you are winning more, push things up and flow with the beat till you positively distance yourself from your competitors.
